Bharti Airtel has introduced India’s first AI-driven, network-based spam detection solution, aiming to significantly reduce unwanted calls and messages for its users This innovative system operates seamlessly in the background, providing real-time alerts for suspected spam without requiring any additional apps or manual activation
🔍 How It Works
Developed in-house by Airtel’s data scientists, the solution employs a proprietary algorithm that analyzes over 250 parameters to identify and classify communications as “Suspected SPAM. These parameters include call/SMS frequency, duration, usage patterns, and anomalies such as frequent IMEI change. By cross-referencing this data against known spam patterns, the system accurately flags potential spam calls and message. In real-time, it processes approximately 1.5 billion messages and 2.5 billion calls daily, equating to the analysis of 1 trillion records per day

The system features a *dual-layer protection mechanism:
- *Network Layer: Monitors and filters communications at the network level.
- *IT Systems Layer: Analyzes data at the IT systems level to detect and prevent spam.
